B2B marketing executive joins as būmi scales microbe-edible materials across agriculture, packaging and foodservice following its 2026 World Ag Expo Top 10 win.
HEBER CITY, UT, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — būmi, the material innovation company turning upcycled agricultural biomass into microbe-edible alternatives to plastic, today announced the appointment of Jeff Angerbauer as Chief Marketing Officer.
In addition to serving as Chief Marketing Officer, Angerbauer has been appointed to būmi’s Board of Directors. He joins būmi’s leadership team as the company builds on the momentum of būmigro Mulch Film’s recognition as a 2026 Top 10 New Product at the World Ag Expo and prepares to scale its packaging and foodservice lines under the būmi technology platform.
Angerbauer brings more than three decades of marketing, product, and operations leadership to the role, most recently as a B2B marketing executive at Little Giant Ladder Systems, where he has led product development and go-to-market strategy for a line of ladder products designed to prevent injuries. Earlier in his career, he spent 15 years at Essilor, a global eyewear leader, rising from Director of Marketing for Key Accounts to Vice President of Channel Marketing — where he managed all U.S. B2B channel marketing representing $1.5 billion in annual revenue — and ultimately Vice President of Operations, where he led the commercialization plan for the company’s concept “smart” optical lab of the future. He also founded and launched College Essay Builder, building the brand from the ground up. Angerbauer holds an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from SMU’s Cox School of Business.
At būmi, Angerbauer will lead brand strategy and marketing execution across the company’s three verticals — agriculture, packaging, and foodservice — as būmi works to position its proprietary bumi blend material as the category leader in microbe-edible technology. His mandate includes sharpening būmi’s message that its products work like plastic, then return cleanly to the earth, and expanding the commercial momentum built around būmigro Mulch Film’s recent industry recognition.
“Jeff joins us at a pivotal moment. Growers are already proving the value of būmigro Mulch Film in the field, and we’re expanding our reach into packaging and foodservice. His experience building scalable marketing organizations will help us transform category awareness into commercial adoption.”
Ross Chiles, Founder & CEO, būmi
“What drew me to būmi is that the sustainability story isn’t the pitch — the performance is. This material replaces plastic and then disappears back into the soil it came from. That’s a genuinely new way to solve the problem, and my job is to make sure growers, brand partners, and consumers understand why that matters to them, not just to the planet.”
Jeff Angerbauer, Chief Marketing Officer, būmi
Angerbauer’s appointment comes as būmi expands commercial distribution of būmigro Mulch Film, which eliminates the labor and disposal costs growers face with traditional plastic film by breaking down directly in the soil at season’s end. The product’s Top 10 New Product honor at the 2026 World Ag Expo — one of the country’s largest agricultural trade shows — has become a key credential in būmi’s push into new grower markets, alongside the company’s būmipac packaging line and būmieat foodservice products. The company expects additional product introductions and expanded commercial partnerships throughout 2026.
