“Strong partnerships are essential to our ability to safely deliver reliable energy and build the infrastructure we need to meet growing demand,” said Avangrid CEO Jose Antonio Miranda. “These companies support everything we do, from building new generating capacity, to distributing electricity to our millions of customers, to keeping the lights on during storms.”
During the event, Avangrid recognized suppliers for excellence in health and safety, emergency and storm response, community impact, innovation, and overall performance. This year’s theme was Stronger Together: Celebrating Collaboration & Building the Grid of Tomorrow. Avangrid recognized suppliers in the following categories:
- Supplier of the Year: PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC
- Health and Safety: M.A. Mortenson Company
- Emergency and Storm Excellence: Jalbear Brothers, Inc.
- Community Impact: LaBella Associates, P.C.
- Technology Advancement: Floatograph Mast & Trailer Solutions, LLC
- New Supplier of the Year: SEG Solar, Inc.
Through longstanding relationships with its suppliers, Avangrid purchases approximately $5 billion in goods and services annually. These partnerships provide the materials, services, and expertise needed to operate Avangrid’s businesses and advance critical energy infrastructure across the country.
“This award really belongs to the folks in the field. Our crews, our engineers, and our subcontractors show up for Avangrid every day, and this recognition is theirs,” said Mitch Guess, Executive Vice President, PAR Electrical Contractors, a Quanta Services company. “With the support of Quanta Services, PAR and Avangrid’s commitment to safety and efficiency help reinforce the grid across the country with sustainable generation and transmission. Supplier Day was a great chance to celebrate with the Avangrid team, and we’re looking forward to many more projects together.”
“Avangrid chose SEG because of trust—in our product quality, our ability to deliver on time, and our environmental and corporate responsibility,” said Jim Wood, CEO of SEG Solar. “They’ve welcomed us into their circle of trust, and that means a great deal to our team. We earn that trust every day through rigorous quality assurance and quality control, reliable delivery, and doing what we say we will do. We’re proud to grow alongside Avangrid and share a commitment to building a strong domestic supply chain that supports American manufacturing and jobs.”
Employees at Avangrid and its subsidiaries nominated vendors for this recognition. A steering committee comprising representatives of Avangrid purchasing and business leaders selected the winners among approximately 40 nominated suppliers.
